This page explains what happens to your data when you apply to become a beta tester. The full picture of how the app itself handles data lives in our full privacy policy — read the full policy.

//: what we collect when you apply

When you send a beta application, we collect three things: your email, your birth year, and your three yes/no answers (do you have video of your matches, are you willing to spend around 30 minutes logging, are you motivated to get better). We do not ask for your name.
We do not collect anything else.

//: why we are allowed to

We process this on the basis of legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — you reached out to us, and we need to read and answer your application.
This is not consent, and we will never send you advertising or share your information with anyone.

//: if you are under 15

If you are under 15, we need a parent to say yes before you can use the app. We sort that out together if you are invited — the application itself does not need a parent. You must be at least 13 to apply.

//: how long we keep it

If we cannot offer you a place, we delete your application. If we invite you, we delete the application when we start together in the app and your data moves into the app under the proper basis.
We do not keep applications from people who are too young — those are deleted right away.

//: your rights

You can ask to see what we hold, or ask us to delete it, at any time. Write to support@activescanning.com.
You can also object to this processing — in practice, ask us to delete your application, and we will.
